Jericho Rosales and Anne Curtis have once again proven their box-office power.
VIVA Films and Cornerstone Studios confirmed that their reunion project The Loved One earned ₱95 million in its first week of screening.
Audiences praised the film for the strong performances and chemistry of Rosales and Curtis. Cornerstone Studios expressed gratitude in a social media post:
“Ramdam namin ang pagmamahal niyo sa The Loved One! Thank you for bringing back the love for cinemas, tuloy-tuloy lang.”
The statement was seen as a sign of the gradual revival of Philippine cinema.
Rosales and Curtis last starred together in Baler, the romantic-historical drama that won Best Picture at the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival.
The Loved One continues to be shown in more than 200 cinemas nationwide.
