VIC SOTTO TEASES POTENTIAL MMFF COMEBACK

Ace comedian and eight-time box-office legend Vic Sotto dropped a playful hint about a possible return to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) during a recent episode of Eat Bulaga.

The remark came during the show’s segment “The Age Is Right”, when a contestant expressed admiration for Sotto and recalled watching his films regularly at the festival. Sotto quipped that audiences should “watch out” for his next movie in the MMFF, though it remained unclear whether he was serious or joking.

Sotto is widely regarded as one of the festival’s pillars, having starred in 20 MMFF entries, all grossing over ₱50 million, with three surpassing ₱300 million. His iconic Enteng Kabisote films consistently topped box office charts in past editions.

His most recent MMFF appearance was in 2024 with the alternative historical-drama The Kingdom, produced by MQuest Ventures, APT Entertainment, and MZet Productions.

The film, co-starring Piolo Pascual, ranked third at the box office and earned several awards, including 2nd Best Picture.
