Around 120,000 participants are expected to gather at the Trillion Peso March on Bonifacio Day, November 30, at the EDSA People Power Monument.
This marks the second major protest organized by civil society and church groups, following a large September 21 rally that also drew thousands.
Fr. Arnold Abelardo of the CMF Solidarity & Mission of the Claretian Missionaries urged the public to stay vigilant and engaged amid recent national crises.
“Sa isang mapayapang pamamaraan… tinatawagan natin ang sambayanang Pilipino… maging mapanuri… dahil sa mga naganap na paglindol baha nakita natin ang epekto ng nakawan,” he said.
More than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed, supported by ambulances and fire trucks. Police Maj. Jennifer Gannaban of the QCPD Public Information Office emphasized respectful crowd management.
“Observance po ng maximum tolerance… Irespeto nila yung karapatang pantao ng lahat ng mga dadalo sa rally,” she said.
White Plains Avenue has been fully closed since 6 a.m., with heavy northbound traffic on EDSA expected throughout the day.
Authorities also appealed to attendees for cooperation and orderliness.
“Paalala po natin… panatilihin po natin yung disiplina… Makipag-coordinate kung sakaling may mga kailangan sila or emergencies… May mga medics po tayo na naka-standby,” the QCPD added.
