Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon announced that rehabilitation work along EDSA will be carried out round-the-clock during Holy Week to maximize progress while traffic volume in Metro Manila is lighter.
In a multi-agency press briefing on Tuesday, Dizon said the first phase of the rehabilitation will cover the stretch from Orense to Roxas Boulevard, including both the carriageway and sidewalks.
“‘Yung EDSA rehab po natin eh talagang papaspasan natin lalo na ngayon na kakaunti naman ang mga vehicles sa Metro Manila ‘pag start ng Holy Week,” Dizon stated.
The 24/7 operations are scheduled to begin Wednesday at 10 p.m. and will run continuously until Monday at 4 a.m.
Dizon added that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed government agencies to accelerate the completion of major infrastructure projects, particularly amid economic pressures brought about by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
