The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has welcomed the results of the OCTA Research survey indicating that 70% of Filipinos believe the military should remain non-partisan in political matters.

“The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) welcomes the results of the Tugon ng Masa 3rd Quarter 2025 Survey by OCTA Research, showing that 70 percent of Filipinos support the AFP’s non-partisan stance and reject military involvement in politics,” the AFP said in a Facebook post on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

The survey, conducted from September 25 to 30, 2025, involved 1,200 respondents across the country.

According to OCTA Research, the highest levels of support for a non-partisan AFP came from Mindanao at 79%, followed by the National Capital Region (NCR) at 78%.

“The results reaffirm the public’s continued trust in the AFP’s professionalism, discipline, and firm adherence to its constitutional mandate of protecting the people and upholding democratic stability,” the AFP stated.

The AFP also reiterated its commitment to remain loyal to its mandate of defending the country’s sovereignty and protecting the Filipino people.

“The AFP remains steadfast in its duty to defend the nation’s sovereignty, protect the Filipino people, and preserve democracy—anchored on the values of professionalism, discipline, and unity in service to the country,” it added.
