ALCANTARA RUSHED TO HOSPITAL AFTER CHEST PAINS, RETURNS TO SENATE SAME DAY

Former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan 1st District Engineer Henry Alcantara was brought to the Pasay Medical Center on Monday, October 13, after experiencing chest pain, according to Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Mao Aplasca.

Alcantara underwent ECG and several medical tests, which revealed that the episode was caused by muscle spasm, not a serious cardiac condition. He was returned to the Senate the same day, where the medical team continues to monitor his condition.

The former district engineer was cited in contempt by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on September 18 for allegedly lying during the investigation into ghost flood control projects in Bulacan. Alcantara and two other former engineers earlier requested to be placed under house arrest, but the committee has yet to issue a decision.
