ALICE GUO’S TRANSFER TO WOMEN’S CORRECTIONAL PUT ON HOLD

Former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo — suspected of being Chinese national Guo Hua Ping — will remain at the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory after filing an urgent motion to halt her transfer to the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong.

PAOCC spokesperson Winston Casio confirmed that her petition has paused the relocation following her conviction for qualified human trafficking.

“This means na maantala muna ang paglipat sa kanya sa Correctional Institution for Women sa Mandaluyong,” Casio said.

In a one-page order dated Nov. 20, Pasig RTC Branch 167 Judge Annielyn Medes-Cabelis scheduled the hearing on Guo’s motion for November 26. Until a ruling is issued, she will remain detained in Pasig.

The BJMP also said it had not yet received any directive for her transfer.

The Pasig court earlier sentenced Guo and seven others to life imprisonment over human trafficking tied to the illegal POGO hub in Bamban.

The case stemmed from the operations of Zun Yuan Technology Inc. inside the Baofu compound, where authorities rescued around 800 workers in a 2024 raid.
