Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co has formally resigned from the House of Representatives as he faces mounting allegations over anomalous flood control projects and questionable budget insertions in the 2025 national budget.
Co announced his resignation on social media, sharing a copy of his letter addressed to House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III.

“On the account of the real, direct, grave and imminent threat to the lives of my family and me, and the evident denial of my right to due process of law, I am constrained to tender with immediate effect my irrevocable resignation as a member of the House of Representatives,” Co stated in his letter.
The resignation came on September 29 (Monday), the same day Speaker Dy’s deadline for Co to return to the Philippines and face the accusations against him—a directive Co had repeatedly refused, maintaining his innocence.
