Former President and Pampanga 2nd District Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has firmly denied allegations linking her to any effort to remove House Speaker Faustino Dy III from his post.
The denial followed reports circulating on April 9 from unnamed media outlets claiming that certain political groups were allegedly planning to oust Dy in a move reportedly connected to attempts to slow down impeachment complaints involving Vice President Sara Duterte within the House of Representatives.
In a statement posted on her official social media account on Friday, April 10, Arroyo dismissed the claims outright, saying:
“I categorically deny the allegations concerning the supposed ouster of Speaker Bojie Dy that surfaced yesterday.”
She also expressed continued support for Dy’s leadership in the lower chamber, emphasizing long-standing political ties with his family.
“I reaffirm my confidence in his leadership of the House of Representatives. Our mutual support, which began many years ago with his late father, remains unbroken,” she added.
As of this writing, Speaker Dy has not issued any public statement addressing the reported allegations.
