Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla revealed Tuesday that businessman Atong Ang is currently in Vietnam, citing the latest intelligence reports.
Remulla explained that Ang reportedly traveled from Mindanao to Malaysia before reaching Vietnam, possibly using a backdoor exit about two weeks prior to the announcement of his arrest.
Mga 2 weeks before yata nakaalis na by a backdoor,” he said.
The government has doubled the reward for information leading to Ang’s arrest from ₱10 million to ₱20 million as of February 12.
Ang and several others face warrants for multiple counts of kidnapping with homicide and kidnapping with serious illegal detention, linked to the disappearance of cockfight participants.
