Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Thursday confirmed that both former and incumbent senators remain listed in the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s partial report, which is set for discussion on Monday, February 9.
“Pag na-mention sila sa investigation, definitely, they will be mentioned, there’s no doubt. Maski former senator, incumbent senator,” Lacson said in a television interview.
“If I omit their names, I might as well omit other names na-mention during the hearings. We should be led by the evidence.”
The partial report recommends the filing of criminal complaints against incumbent Senators Chiz Escudero, Jinggoy Estrada, and Joel Villanueva, as well as former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., in connection with alleged irregularities uncovered in flood control projects.
Lacson noted that while the panel held preliminary discussions on the draft, no major revisions were made.
“Based on their input, wala namang substantial na nagalaw sa aming committee report. We just revised some words—yung proper language, more appropriate language to be used in the report,” he explained.
“I’m ready again to present it to them, maybe on Monday,” Lacson added.
