BOC POSTS RECORD ₱239B FIRST-QUARTER COLLECTION

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has achieved its highest first-quarter revenue collection in history, generating ₱239.05 billion from January to March 2026.

Preliminary figures show the bureau exceeded its target of ₱236.06 billion by ₱2.99 billion, or 1.3% above goal. Collections also rose by ₱7.68 billion, or 3.3% higher compared to the same period last year.

“Our highest first-quarter collection of ₱239.054 billion, with a surplus of ₱2.994 billion shows that integrity, accountability, and modernization are not barriers to performance—they are the very reasons we are achieving it,” Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said.

The BOC credited the strong performance to the collective efforts of ports and subports nationwide.

Key contributors included public auctions of forfeited goods — notably smuggled luxury vehicles converted into public revenue — and strengthened post-clearance audit operations.

This milestone places the first quarter of 2026 among the bureau’s top-performing periods, second only to the July–September collections in 2025.
