Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Friday dismissed online speculation claiming Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla had been hospitalized, saying the anti-graft chief remains in good health.
“He just finished playing golf and had a hearty lunch with his family. We are going to have breakfast tomorrow,” Jonvic said.
Unverified posts circulating on social media alleged that the Ombudsman had been admitted to a hospital, which his brother described as false.
Ombudsman Boying previously disclosed that he battled leukemia following a quintuple bypass heart surgery in 2023 while serving as justice secretary. He underwent chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant from one of his children and has since said his prognosis is good.
The Office of the Ombudsman has reported no disruption in operations, with officials confirming that Remulla continues to perform his official duties.
