CAAP CONFIRMS ZALDY CO’S AIR ASSETS HAVE LEFT THE PHILIPPINES

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has confirmed that three air assets owned by former Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co have already departed from the Philippines.

“Dalawang AgustaWestland helicopters ang kasalukuyang nasa Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, na lumipad roon noong Agosto 20 at Setyembre 11, ayon sa pagkakabanggit. Samantala, ang Gulfstream aircraft ay nasa Singapore simula Agosto 16,” CAAP said in an official statement.

The confirmation came shortly after the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) issued a new subpoena to Co, who has yet to return to the country amid allegations linking him to anomalous flood control projects.

Co resigned from the House of Representatives in September, citing threats to his family’s safety and what he described as a denial of due process in the ongoing investigations.

The ICI has since recommended the filing of graft, malversation, and falsification charges before the Office of the Ombudsman in connection with a ₱289.5-million road dike project in Oriental Mindoro that allegedly involved irregularities.
