CIDG SEEKS INTERPOL RED NOTICE VS ATONG ANG

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has sought a red notice from Interpol against business tycoon Atong Ang, aiming to prevent his possible flight abroad amid arrest warrants tied to the missing sabungeros case.

CIDG chief Police Major General Robert Alexander Morico II confirmed coordination with Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Manila, noting Ang is still believed to be in the country.

“As part also of our way forward, although our recent monitoring, he is still in the country, but we have also requested with (National Central Bureau) Manila of the Interpol a red notice,” Morico said.

The request would allow foreign law enforcement to locate and provisionally arrest Ang if he crosses borders.

Meanwhile, authorities have tightened restrictions, with the PNP revoking his firearm licenses and ordering the surrender of six registered guns.

The Bureau of Immigration is enforcing a departure order, while CIDG is weighing his inclusion in the national most wanted list as the manhunt intensifies.
