Applications for voter registration in connection with the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) this November have surpassed the 2 million mark, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) reported.
As of February 15, COMELEC recorded a total of 2,135,181 applications nationwide.
Breakdown of applications:
- Female applicants: 1,121,112
- Male applicants: 1,014,069
- Total applications received: 1,554,253
- New registrants (18 years old and above): 556,283
- New registrants (15–17 years old for SK): 580,928
The voter registration period, which resumed on October 20, 2025, will run until May 18, 2026.
The Barangay and SK elections are scheduled for November 2, 2026.
This surge in applications reflects strong participation ahead of the polls, particularly among the youth sector.
