DE LIMA CALLS CASH BAG CLAIMS ‘PURE INVENTION’

House Deputy Minority Leader and Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Representative Leila de Lima has denied allegations that she was among lawmakers who supposedly received bags of money delivered by former soldiers, calling the claims fabricated.

The issue surfaced after lawyer Levi Baligod, counsel for the group of ex-military personnel, admitted in an interview that he may have mistakenly included De Lima’s name in the alleged list of recipients.

“Whether sa maleta o sa paper bag o anuman yan, malinaw na imbento lang yan,” De Lima said.

She added that the narrative was already falling apart.

“Nagkakabuhol-buhol na agad yung kwento nila dahil sa lantarang kasinungalingan at paninira na naman sa akin! Baligod is playing fast and loose with his license to practice law,” she declared.

De Lima also underscored that she had only assumed office as a member of the House of Representatives on June 30, 2025, suggesting the allegations lacked credibility from the outset.
