The Department of Education (DepEd) has announced the implementation of a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement for non-teaching personnel during the upcoming Mid-Year Wellness Break from October 27 to 30, 2025.
According to a memorandum issued by the agency, non-teaching staff may render services remotely for a maximum of two days within the four-day wellness break, provided that their respective Heads of Offices approve their schedule and they submit an accomplishment report afterward.
“Non-teaching personnel may be allowed to render services through WFH arrangement for a maximum of two (2) days within the period of October 27 to 30, 2025, inclusive of their availment of the Combination Flexible Work Arrangement, subject to the approval and discretion of the Head of Office, and consistent with the provisions of DepEd Order No. 4, s. 2025,” the memorandum stated.
To ensure that public service operations continue during the break, DepEd also directed office heads to maintain a minimal on-site workforce to handle urgent matters and essential transactions.
“Heads of Offices are directed to ensure continuity in the delivery of services by maintaining a skeleton workforce on-site throughout the duration of the Midyear Wellness Break to attend to urgent and essential transactions,” the DepEd directive read.
This directive applies to all public schools, division offices, and the DepEd Central Office nationwide. It aims to promote the well-being of employees while maintaining the smooth and uninterrupted delivery of public services.
