DILG DOUBLES BOUNTY VS ATONG ANG TO ₱20M

The Department of the Interior and Local Government has raised the reward for the arrest of businessman Atong Ang to ₱20 million as authorities intensify the manhunt in the high-profile missing sabungeros case.

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced the increase on Thursday, saying the higher bounty reflects the government’s resolve to capture Ang, the last remaining fugitive in the case, who is still at large despite multiple arrest warrants.

“We are increasing the bounty for Atong Ang to ₱20 million for information leading to his arrest. We’re serious here,” Remulla said during a press briefing in Quezon City.

He clarified that the reward will be sourced from the confidential funds of the Philippine National Police and the DILG, stressing transparency in its use.

“Galing yan sa confidential funds provided to the PNP and the DILG para sa ganyang kaso. Walang Chippy o Piattos dito,” he added, referencing past controversies surrounding confidential funds.

Ang is facing arrest warrants from regional trial courts in Laguna and Batangas over his alleged role in the disappearance and killing of several cockfighting enthusiasts.

Authorities have also tapped international partners and are considering an Interpol red notice to locate him abroad.
