The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) believes former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co may be traveling under a different passport, DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla revealed on Monday, November 24.
During a press conference, Remulla was asked why authorities have yet to apprehend Co despite an active warrant of arrest.
“We believe he is travelling with another passport. We do not know if he is using another name. So bine-verify pa namin, e,” Remulla said.
He added that authorities are awaiting further developments from international law enforcement.
“The red notice can be out and then we will further determine kung nasaan talaga siya,” he noted.
This comes after the release of mugshots of eight individuals implicated in the alleged anomalous flood control projects. Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon reiterated that the arrests are only the beginning.
“Nandito na po tayo sa punto na mananagot na po lahat ng mga dapat managot pero umpisa pa lang po ito,” Dizon said.
Recently, Taguig City Police attempted to serve Co’s arrest warrant at a condominium unit linked to him. However, the building’s manager and security chief later confirmed that Co no longer occupies the unit and that the door has been sealed for over a month.
