Netizens are abuzz after allegations surfaced that controversial couple Sarah and Curlee Discaya attempted to bribe veteran journalist Karen Davila with a hefty sum in exchange for a feature on her YouTube vlog.
An insider from ABS-CBN’s newsroom confirmed the bribery attempt, adding that Davila firmly turned down the offer. According to the source, Davila rejected the Discayas’ proposal because it was “unethical” for a journalist to accept money from someone eyeing public office.
The controversy comes after Sarah Discaya’s failed mayoral bid in Pasig City during the 2025 midterm elections, where she lost to re-electionist Mayor Vico Sotto.
Meanwhile, the viral interview of the Discayas on Korina Sanchez-Roxas’ show Korina Interviews on Net 25 has mysteriously vanished from YouTube. This development follows Mayor Sotto’s explosive claims that Sanchez-Roxas and TV5 anchor Julius Babao allegedly accepted payments from the Discayas to showcase the couple’s opulent lifestyle.
Both Sanchez-Roxas and Babao have vehemently denied the accusations, with Sanchez’s camp threatening to slap Sotto with cyberlibel charges.
The Discayas are once again under fire after their companies, St. Timothy Construction Corporation and Alpha and Omega Gen. Contractor and Development Inc., were listed among the Top 15 contractors linked to questionable flood control projects exposed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
