DIZON SAYS ARREST WARRANTS FOR FLOOD CONTROL SCAM ‘DAYS AWAY’

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon assured the public that arrest warrants for those implicated in the anomalous flood control projects may be issued in the coming days.

During a press conference with the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on Tuesday, November 18, Dizon acknowledged mounting public impatience.

He stressed that the cases filed were strong enough to ensure swift action by the Sandiganbayan.

Dizon said the DPWH, ICI, and Ombudsman were confident that the investigation would yield results.

“Kampante kami, kampante ang ICI din, at kampante rin ang Office of the Ombudsman,” he said.

He also highlighted the speed of the process compared to previous corruption cases.

He added this was only the beginning of further actions against those involved.

“I think I can say, on behalf of the government, on behalf of the President, is umpisa pa lang ito at marami pang susunod diyan,” he concluded.
