DOH ISSUES SAFETY REMINDERS FOR HOLY WEEK TRAVELERS AND CHURCHGOERS

The Department of Health (DOH) has called on the public to ensure safety during the observance of Holy Week, reminding Filipinos to take precautions while traveling and participating in religious activities.

“Ngayong Holy Week, iwasan ang anumang sakit o sakuna na pwedeng mangyari sa inyong mga mahal sa buhay,” the DOH advised on Tuesday.

The agency issued reminders particularly for those planning to take part in Visita Iglesia, encouraging travelers to prepare essential items such as umbrellas, snacks, paracetamol, insect repellent, masks, fans, extra clothing, alcohol, and drinking water to avoid illness or discomfort.

The DOH also urged the public to immediately call the National Emergency Hotline 911 if assistance is needed.

Authorities emphasized that being prepared and staying alert can help prevent accidents and health-related incidents during the long holiday.
