DOJ NAMES POLO MARTINEZ AS NEW SPOKESPERSON

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has officially named Atty. Polo Martinez as its new spokesperson, succeeding former Assistant Secretary Mico Clavano, who currently serves as Assistant Ombudsman and spokesperson for the Office of the Ombudsman.

Before his appointment, Martinez joined the DOJ in 2025 as a prosecution attorney under both the Office of the Prosecutor and the Office of the Secretary of Justice.

Prior to entering government service, he worked as an associate lawyer at the Platon Martinez Flores San Pedro Leaño Law Offices from 2022 to 2024.

Martinez earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the same university.

While the DOJ has yet to name its permanent secretary, Fredderick Vida currently serves as the officer-in-charge of the department.
