The Department of Justice (DOJ) has issued subpoenas to businessman Atong Ang, actress Gretchen Barretto, former PNP-NCRPO Chief Lt. Gen. Jonel Estomo, and 60 others linked to the disappearance of several sabungeros (cockfight enthusiasts).
The subpoenas stemmed from multiple complaints filed against them before the DOJ.
Ang, Barretto, Estomo, and the other respondents will be given the opportunity to submit their counter-affidavits.
The DOJ has scheduled the preliminary investigation for September 18 and 29, where the respondents are expected to face not only prosecutors but also the families of the missing victims.
