The Department of Justice (DOJ) is set to transfer within the year to its new ₱15-billion headquarters in Baclaran, Parañaque City, a move expected to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen coordination with other key government agencies.
Acting Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida announced that the new facility will consolidate several DOJ offices, including the Office of the Secretary Justice Prosecution Service (OSJPS), state prosecutors, legal services, and other programs. It will also accommodate the Offices of the City Prosecutors of Parañaque and Pasay.
The new headquarters is located along Aseana Avenue, strategically positioned near the offices of the Bureau of Immigration, National Bureau of Investigation, and Department of the Interior and Local Government.
“Mas bibilis na ugnayan ang magagawa,” Vida remarked, noting that the proximity of these agencies will significantly improve coordination and service delivery.
The property, formerly known as the Centrium Building, is a two-tower complex previously owned by a private entity before being acquired by the Government Service Insurance System.
Vida explained that one tower was purchased by the DOJ while the other was acquired by the DILG, with both structures currently undergoing retrofitting.
“The expectation is that within this year the DOJ and the DILG will be holding their central offices in those two towers,” he added.
Despite the relocation, the DOJ’s main office in Manila will remain operational, continuing to house key programs such as the Witness Protection Program (WPP).
The Manila City Prosecutor’s Office is also set to be relocated to the DOJ’s Manila headquarters as part of the transition.
