DOJ TURNS OVER FLOOD CONTROL ANOMALY FINDINGS TO OMBUDSMAN

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has formally endorsed to the Office of the Ombudsman the findings of its investigation into alleged irregularities in flood control projects in Bulacan.

According to Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon, the DOJ submitted five cases involving several district office officials and contractors. The complaints include malversation, falsification, perjury, and violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

“The individuals involved here are primarily those who had direct control over the project implementation—district officials such as District Engineers, Assistant District Engineers, Project Managers, and the contractors working with them on these flood control projects,” Fadullon explained.

He clarified that the cases forwarded to the Ombudsman do not mark the end of the DOJ’s efforts, as additional cases may still follow once due process is observed and further evidence is gathered.

“This does not mean the investigation ends here. There are still more cases to come, but we must adhere to the process—ensuring that sufficient evidence is in place before filing any charges,” Fadullon added.
