The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced plans to construct and complete three new EDSA Busway stations in Cubao, Magallanes, and Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).
Construction will begin in the first quarter of 2026 and is targeted for completion by the fourth quarter of the year, aimed at improving efficiency and accessibility for commuters.
Transportation Undersecretary for Road Infrastructure Mark Steven Pastor confirmed in a radio interview that the project contract was awarded in December.
The initiative aligns with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s directive to enhance public transport and busway operations.
The DOTr also announced the inauguration of the EDSA Busway Kamuning Station in the first quarter of 2026. The station will feature elevators and escalators to improve accessibility, particularly for PWDs, senior citizens, and pregnant women, as part of the busway’s modernization program.
