The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has announced a series of road maintenance and rehabilitation projects across Metro Manila, scheduled during the Holy Week break to minimize disruption to motorists.
In an advisory released by DPWH-NCR on March 31, the agency said the repairs will run until Monday, April 6, assuring the public that all works are targeted for completion within the period to avoid post-holiday inconvenience.
Among the major projects is the ongoing asphalt overlay and expansion joint repairs along EDSA southbound at the Magallanes Flyover, which will be carried out from April 1 to 6. Sidewalk improvements along EDSA from Orense Street to Buendia Avenue are also scheduled within the same dates.
At Ortigas Avenue, repair works at Rosario Bridge—including asphalt overlay and waterproofing—will run from 12:00 a.m. of April 2 until 5:00 a.m. of April 6. Meanwhile, road rehabilitation along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Karuhatan began earlier on March 30 and will continue until April 6.
Other key projects include excavation, pipe laying, and concreting works along E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue from Mariable Bridge to G. Araneta Avenue, as well as along the northbound lane of G. Araneta Avenue. Painting works on the San Juan Bridge northbound lane are scheduled from April 1 to 2.
Additional infrastructure activities include retrofitting works at Lambingan Bridge along Aurora Boulevard, bridge construction at Almirante Creek in Las Piñas City, and the raising of manholes along Alabang–Muntinlupa Road in Muntinlupa City. Repairs on the expansion joint of P. Quirino Bridge along President Quirino Avenue are also set from April 1 to 6.
DPWH advised motorists to expect temporary partial road closures in affected areas and urged the public to follow traffic signs and on-site advisories.
Drivers are also encouraged to take alternate routes whenever possible to ensure smoother travel during the holiday period.
