DPWH TO LIVESTREAM BIDDING PROCESS FOR PUBLIC TRANSPARENCY

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon announced that the public will now be able to watch the agency’s bidding process through social media to ensure accountability and transparency.

“Lahat po ng magiging bidding, mula central office, regional office, district office, livestreaming na, at ‘yong mga livestreaming na link, ipapaskil natin sa social media, ipapadala natin sa members ng media, para may access ang mga kababayan natin,” Dizon said in an interview with DZMM Radyo Patrol on Tuesday, September 30.

He explained that the initiative will start with the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge (BCIB) Project, alongside other projects that the agency will implement nationwide.

Kasabay niyan ‘yong iba’t ibang proyekto nationwide, from region to district,” he added.

Dizon stressed that allowing the public to view DPWH processes is a crucial step in preventing corruption within the agency.

It can be recalled that on September 6, Dizon temporarily suspended the procurement of DPWH projects, before ordering its resumption on September 16.

Under the new directive, livestreaming of bidding activities will be among the measures the agency is required to implement.
