The Duterte family said they have accepted the International Criminal Court (ICC) Appeals Chamber’s decision junking the “interim release” request of former President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday, November 28.
“The family accepts the ICC Appeals Chamber’s decision with peaceful hearts,” the Duterte family said after the appeals chamber denied the former President’s temporary release.
“We will continue to work with the defense team on the case and will keep supporting Former President Rodrigo Duterte with our daily conversation,” they added.
They also extended their gratitude to those who joined them in prayer.
The ICC Appeals Chamber unanimously rejected three appeals filed by Duterte’s camp, effectively keeping the former President in the ICC detention center as proceedings continue.
