DUTERTE SAYS OFFICIALS NEED HELP TO “COVER UP” AMID REMULLA’S APPOINTMENT

Davao 1st District Representative Paolo “Pulong” Duterte issued a statement on Tuesday regarding President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s appointment of Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla as the country’s new Ombudsman.

In a Facebook post dated October 7, 2025, Pulong criticized government officials, suggesting they need assistance to “cover up” their problems.

“Statement on the appointment of Boying Remulla as Ombudsman,” Pulong wrote in the caption.

“It makes sense. Sa dami ng problema ng mga nakaupo ngayun, kailangan nila ng lahat ng tulong na makuha nila para mapagtakpan sila. Even at the cost of making a mockery of our constitution. God bless the Philippines,” he added.

The appointment of Remulla was confirmed by the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) on the same day, following the completion of former Ombudsman Samuel R. Martires’ term in July 2025.

“President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Secretary of Justice Jesus Crispin ‘Boying’ Remulla as the new Ombudsman of the Republic of the Philippines, following the completion of the term of Hon. Samuel R. Martires in July,” the PCO said in a Facebook post.

As of Tuesday, Remulla has not issued any statement in response to Pulong’s remarks.
