DY SAYS NO BASIS FOR MARCOS IMPEACHMENT

House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III on Monday dismissed the impeachment complaint filed against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., saying there is no justification for such a move.

The statement came after lawyer Andre de Jesus filed the first impeachment complaint against Marcos earlier in the day.

Dy underscored the seriousness of the process, stressing that it must be handled with caution and respect for the Constitution.

Dy warned against using impeachment for political purposes.

With Congress set to reopen session next week, Dy said the House would prioritize passing legislation that would “truly uplift the lives of the Filipino people.”

The remarks highlight the leadership’s stance to steer focus away from impeachment proceedings and toward governance and policymaking.
