Most parts of the Philippines are expected to experience generally fair weather on Easter Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA reported that a ridge of a high pressure area (HPA) is extending over Northern and Central Luzon, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies across Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
A ridge of an HPA is described as an elongated zone of relatively higher atmospheric pressure that suppresses cloud formation, resulting in more stable and generally fair weather conditions.
However, the weather bureau cautioned that localized thunderstorms may still trigger isolated rain showers, particularly in the Visayas and Mindanao. Severe thunderstorms could potentially cause flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas.
Winds nationwide are expected to be light to moderate, while coastal waters will range from slight to moderate, with wave heights between 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
In Metro Manila, temperatures in the past 24 hours ranged from 22°C to 33.3°C.
