FROM TV EXECUTIVE TO TOURISM SECRETARY? MARCOS ADMIN EYES CHARO SANTOS-CONCIO

Is former ABS-CBN executive and veteran actress Charo Santos-Concio being groomed as the next Secretary of Tourism under the Marcos administration?

According to a post by lawyer Atty. Jesus Falcis, the Marcos administration is seriously wooing Santos-Concio to replace incumbent Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco, following what critics have called a series of “blunders” under her leadership.

Santos-Concio’s credentials, Falcis noted, include being the “brainchild” of the hit tourism anthem Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas — a campaign not funded by the government. She also boasts an impressive track record as a top television executive, particularly during her leadership of ABS-CBN Corporation.

She served as President and CEO of the Kapamilya Network from 2008 to 2015 and currently sits as Chief Content Officer of ABS-CBN.

Aside from her corporate achievements, Santos-Concio remains active in showbiz. She is part of ABS-CBN’s primetime series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo and continues to host the country’s longest-running drama anthology, Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK), which is currently on a season break.

For now, Santos-Concio has remained silent on the reports linking her to the DOT post.
