Executive Secretary Ralph Recto has directed government agencies to implement more concrete and coordinated measures to strengthen the country’s counter-terrorism efforts.
Recto, who chairs the Anti-Terrorism Council (ATC), led its 37th meeting on Thursday, focusing on reinforcing policies and sharpening strategic responses to evolving threats.
Malacañang said the directive supports President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s push to maintain peace and order nationwide while ensuring actions remain anchored in the rule of law and guided by intelligence.
“During the meeting, the Executive Secretary directed all concerned agencies to deliver concrete, coordinated actions grounded in vigilance, unity, and compassion for the nation’s welfare,” the Palace noted.
Among those present were National Security Council Secretary Eduardo Año, Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez Jr., National Commission on Muslim Filipinos Secretary Sabuddin Abdurahim, and representatives from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Immigration, and other key agencies.
The meeting underscored the administration’s commitment to a unified and intelligence-driven counter-terrorism strategy, highlighting vigilance, inter-agency collaboration, and sensitivity to communities affected by security challenges.
