The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) reported solid financial performance in 2025, with total income reaching ₱344.47 billion and assets rising to ₱1.96 trillion—approaching the ₱2 trillion milestone.
In a Tuesday news release, the state-run pension fund said assets grew 8.2% year-on-year, while income rose 6.4% from 2024, fueled by insurance operations and investment earnings.
Social insurance revenues totaled ₱212.17 billion, general insurance premiums hit ₱11.39 billion (up 10.8% from 2024), and investment income from financial assets amounted to ₱76.55 billion, supporting long-term pension obligations. Net operating income stood at ₱137.74 billion.
GSIS President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo Veloso attributed the results to careful fund management:
“Every peso in this fund belongs to a government worker who expects it to be there when they retire or when their family needs it,” Veloso said.
The fund disbursed ₱194 billion in claims and benefits in 2025, reinforcing its commitment to members and retirees while strengthening its asset base.
GSIS highlighted diversified investments, prudent risk management, and improved service delivery as keys to sustaining growth for millions of government workers.
