The southwest monsoon or habagat continues to affect the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon, bringing scattered rain showers, the state weather bureau said Sunday.
In its 4:00AM weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon.
The easterlies will trigger similar weather over Caraga and the Davao Region, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country may also expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Coastal waters will be moderate along the western seaboard of Northern Luzon, and slight to moderate in the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao, as well as the rest of the country.
Sunrise was at 5:44AM, and sunset will be at 6:06AM.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Tapah—formerly named Lannie—was estimated at 640 kilometers west of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, as of 3:00AM.
It was packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, with gustiness reaching up to 90 kph, moving west-northwest at 15 kph.
