HOLIDAY AIRPORT TRAFFIC HIGHER IN 2025 COMPARED TO LAST YEAR

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) reported a surge in passenger traffic at Philippine airports for the 2025 holiday season compared to the same period in 2024, with heavy flows starting in the first week of December.

On December 18, more than 168,000 passengers departed through Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals 1 to 3.

“Kung titignan mo yung domestic departure, so from Manila to the provinces halos pantay sila ng arrival ng international. It could mean that the arrivals coming home are mga balikbayans going to the provinces,” said

MIAA General Manager Eric Ines.
Authorities warned of heavy traffic on major roads near NAIA terminals and reminded travelers to arrive early and comply with baggage rules to avoid delays.

MIAA also announced plans to add more self check-in counters for passenger convenience in the first months of 2026.
