HOUSE LAUNCHES SUPORTA SA BAYAN DESK TO STREAMLINE PUBLIC SERVICE

The House of Representatives has launched the Suporta sa Bayan Desk (SBD), a centralized initiative designed to connect citizen requests directly to government agencies for faster and more efficient delivery of public services.

Speaker Faustino Dy III said the program underscores Congress’ commitment to being the “House of the People.”

“This is about making sure that every Filipino who seeks help from the House of Representatives is properly taken care of. That is precisely why it is called the House of the People, where service should be felt by our kababayan. Ito ang alagang Kongreso,” Dy said.

House Deputy Secretary General Edgardo Pangilinan explained that the SBD will act as a facilitation hub, coordinating with agencies such as the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Health (DOH).

To strengthen service delivery, the House has hired social workers to process applications and assist individuals in need. The desk operates Monday to Thursday and is excluded from the chamber’s work-from-home setup.

Pangilinan also announced plans to expand services through free legal assistance in partnership with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, broadening the scope of aid available under the SBD.
