HOUSE REVOKES ZALDY CO’S TRAVEL CLEARANCE, ORDERS HIM HOME WITHIN 10 DAYS

On the order of House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, the House of Representatives has revoked the travel clearance previously granted to Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co, directing him to immediately return to the Philippines within ten days.

In a letter sent to Co on September 18 (Thursday), Congress informed him that the travel clearance issued for his personal trip has been rescinded with immediate effect.

“This revocation is issued in the paramount interest of the public and due to the existence of pressing national matters requiring your physical presence,” the House said.

Speaker Dy emphasized that Co is expected to comply without delay and return to the country to face allegations against him, including his alleged involvement in anomalous flood control projects and questionable maneuvering in the 2025 national budget deliberations.

The House further warned that should Co fail to comply, it will exhaust all legal means to hold him accountable.

Lawmakers, including Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco and Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep., House Majority Leader, and presidential son Sandro Marcos, have earlier urged Co to return to the Philippines and address the issues against him, stressing that his continued absence damages the image of the House of Representatives.
