HOUSE SPEAKER DY: ZALDY CO NO LONGER UNDER ETHICS COMMITTEE AFTER RESIGNATION

House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III admitted that former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co is no longer under the jurisdiction of the House Committee on Ethics following his resignation from the House of Representatives.

Co resigned on Monday, September 29, just hours before the committee was set to deliberate on cases filed against him, particularly his absence from House sessions since the start of the 20th Congress.

While no longer within the scope of the House Ethics Committee, Dy maintained that Co cannot escape accountability for the corruption allegations he faces—including questionable maneuvers in the 2025 national budget and alleged kickbacks from anomalous flood control projects.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla has since confirmed that the DOJ is preparing to place Co under an Interpol “blue notice” to help track him down abroad.
