The House Committee on Infrastructure has decided to suspend its probe into the alleged irregularities in flood control projects.
According to House Infrastructure Committee Co-Chairperson and Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Terry Ridon, leaders of the joint panel agreed to give way to the ongoing investigation of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
On Wednesday, September 24, House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III submitted to the ICI the transcripts of two House hearings on the flood control projects, along with gathered information and evidence.

“The chairs of the three committees had basically agreed na tumatakbo na po yung sa ICI, I think it is best to make a decision that we have to suspend and cooperate na lang po with the ICI,” said Ridon.
It will be recalled that in his speech after being elected House Speaker, Dy said he preferred to let the ICI handle the probe into the alleged irregular flood control projects, noting that the House investigation was not widely trusted. This comes as several lawmakers, including former House Speaker and Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez and Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co, were implicated in the controversy.
