Following President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s upcoming fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA), the House of Representatives is expected to begin its investigation into the alleged poor services provided by PrimeWater Infrastructure Corporation.
In an interview on the radio show Ted Failon at DJ Chacha sa True FM, Zambales 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun confirmed that the congressional probe will call on PrimeWater executives, including its current head Paolo Villar, son of former Senators Manny and Cynthia Villar.
Also set to be summoned are officials from the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) and several consumers affected by PrimeWater’s services.
The inquiry follows an earlier directive from President Marcos Jr. for LWUA to look into complaints filed against the company during the 2025 election campaign period.
The order came shortly after Vice President Sara Duterte, a known political rival of Marcos Jr., endorsed senatorial candidate Camille Villar — Paolo Villar’s sister and a member of the Marcos-backed Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas slate.
