The Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) said it is still waiting for its next resource person before proceeding with a public livestream of its upcoming hearings.
In an ambush interview, ICI spokesperson Brian Hosaka assured that the commission is fully prepared to broadcast its proceedings once a resource person confirms attendance.
“We’re ready to livestream and we’re just waiting for a resource person who will be appearing before the ICI and who will agree on who would be showing their testimony to the public through our livestream,” Hosaka said.
He clarified that hearings will be livestreamed by default unless a request for an executive session is submitted.
“Kung walang request for any executive session, we will have to go livestream. So they would have to justify why they are asking for an executive based on our guidelines, which is also based on existing law and jurisprudence and pronouncement by the Supreme Court,” he emphasized.
Under the ICI’s newly released guidelines, executive sessions may be granted upon request from government agencies, government offices, resource persons, or witnesses.
Should the livestream push through, Hosaka said the public will be able to follow the proceedings through YouTube.
