Senator Imee Marcos released a video message on Saturday, April 4, reminding Filipinos that Black Saturday, or Sabado de Gloria, is a day of silence and reflection.
“Ang Sabado de Gloria ay araw ng katahimikan at paghihintay. Sa pagitan ng krus at muling pagkabuhay, ipinapaalala sa atin na may pag-asa. At sa bawat dilim ay may liwanag na darating,” she said.
Earlier in Holy Week, Marcos shared reflections on forgiveness and repentance as part of her series of themed spiritual messages for the season.
Alongside her religious reflections, the senator also urged full transparency in the final report of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) on alleged anomalies in flood control projects, reiterating her call on April 1, coinciding with Miyerkules Santo and April Fool’s Day.
Her dual focus on faith and governance highlighted the solemnity of Holy Week while emphasizing accountability in public infrastructure.
