Senator Imee Marcos on Thursday, November 13, revealed possible developments in the upcoming Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on the alleged anomalous flood control projects, set for Friday, November 14.
Speaking to reporters, Marcos said several congressmen are expected to attend the hearing to clear former House Speaker and Leyte 1st District Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez from any involvement in the controversy.
The senator also disclosed that former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co will reportedly join the hearing via Zoom.
Marcos earlier claimed that witnesses may retract their testimonies due to pressure and intimidation, referring to Orly Goteza, the former Senate witness who previously alleged the delivery of cash-filled bags to the homes of Romualdez and Co.
“Ang mangyayari ngayon, magre-recant ang mga testigo. Panoorin ninyo, sigurado ako diyan. Isa-isa ‘yan na biglang babaliktad dahil pini-pressure, tinatakot ang pamilya, at halos tinutukan ang asawa’t anak,” she said.
