JOLO REVILLA CALLS FOR FAIRNESS IN FATHER’S CASE

Cavite 1st District Representative Jolo Revilla appealed to the public and the media to let the justice system take its course following the surrender of his father, former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., who is facing charges over an allegedly anomalous flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.

Revilla said his father’s decision to yield was a conscious move to confront the accusations directly and to show trust in the country’s legal institutions.

“To voluntarily submit himself to the authorities was a deliberate step to confront the accusations head-on and to affirm his faith in our legal institutions,” Revilla said.

“Hindi ito pag-iwas, kundi pagharap. He believes that the proper place to resolve these issues is inside the courtroom, where facts matter, and the law speaks louder than speculation,” he added.

The lawmaker admitted the situation is difficult for their family but underscored the importance of accountability and due process.

“In this light, we respectfully call for fairness—fair treatment under the law, fair judgment based on evidence, and fairness in public discourse that refrains from trial by publicity,” Revilla said.

“Nagpapasalamat kami sa patuloy na panalangin at malasakit ng mga taong nananatiling naniniwala sa patas at makatarungang paglilitis. Sa huli, naniniwala kami na ang katotohanan ang mananaig,” he added.

Former Senator Revilla, previously detained over the ₱10 billion pork barrel scam, surrendered at Camp Crame on Monday night after the Sandiganbayan issued a warrant of arrest against him. He is set to face trial as authorities continue operations against his co-accused.
