Senate Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito has been formally designated as the new chairperson of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges.
The appointment came after Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III approved a motion by Senate Majority Leader Migz Zubiri assigning Ejercito to lead the panel.
Serving as vice chairperson of the committee is Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, while its members include Senate Deputy Majority Leader Risa Hontiveros and Senator Erwin Tulfo.
The Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges is tasked with handling complaints related to the conduct of lawmakers inside the plenary, as well as safeguarding the integrity of the institution.
With Ejercito’s designation, the Senate has now completed the distribution of leadership posts across all 41 standing committees.
