Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino released their respective 100-day accomplishment reports, outlining legislative priorities centered on food security, education reform, and government transparency.
PANGILINAN: FAST ACTION ON FOOD CRISIS
As chairperson of the Senate Committees on Agriculture, Justice, and Constitutional Amendments, Pangilinan described his first three months in office as “a race against time” to bring down food prices and stabilize the livelihood of farmers and fisherfolk.

He led hearings on agricultural smuggling and rising food costs, emphasizing the urgent need to address hunger and reassess the impact of the Rice Tariffication Law (RTL) on local producers. Among his major initiatives are proposed amendments to the RTL, holding smugglers accountable, and establishing the Congressional Commission on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Security (AGRICOM) — a body that will craft long-term reforms for the sector.

Pangilinan also filed the Free Breakfast Act, which aims to provide free morning meals to public school students, ensuring that at least 50% of the ingredients are sourced from local farmers — an initiative aligned with his Sagip Saka Act.
In light of the multi-billion-peso flood control scandal, Pangilinan further urged the judiciary to “fast-track the resolution of corruption cases, because true reform rests on accountability.”
AQUINO: EDUCATION AND GOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY
Meanwhile, Senator Bam Aquino’s first 100 days were dedicated to addressing the education crisis and promoting transparency in the use of public funds.

He presented a seven-point education agenda, spearheaded hearings to resolve classroom shortages, and pushed for higher funding for the Free College Law and additional scholarship programs.

Aquino also introduced the Classroom-Building Acceleration Program Act (SBN 121) to hasten school construction, and advocated for the strengthened implementation of the Masustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino Act (RA 11037) to ensure nutritious meals for public school students.
On good governance, Aquino filed the Blockchain the Budget Bill (SBN 1330) to promote full transparency in government spending and led hearings to expand the rollout of the Free Wi-Fi Law (RA 10929). He also called on the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to review burdensome regulations affecting MSMEs and pushed for accountability among contractors involved in irregular flood control projects.

In sum, both Pangilinan and Aquino’s first 100 days in office reflected a shared vision — a government that is honest, transparent, and genuinely working for the welfare of the Filipino people.
